Creating Backlinks – Made Easy

We all want our sites to show up on page one of search engine results pages, where they’ll be noticed by those typing our keywords when they do a Google search.

But ‘how’ do you get your website to show up on page one?

Since Google looks at backlinks, you should create backlinks. (A backlink is your url being mentioned on another website or blog. Clicking on it will take people ‘back’ to your website.)

Creating backlinks can improve your ranking

When we write an article with our url in the author’s bio at the end and get it accepted at an article directory, Google sees that as a backlink from that article directory to your website or blog.

When a webmaster copies your article and posts it on their website, that’s another backlink to your site, from theirs.

Does Google just count any backlink you can create? No. Google also looks at the quality of the website that is backlinking to yours.

For instance, Google won’t pay much attention to a backlink from a website that gets only three or four views per month. Getting your backlink on a website such as jimdandycandy.com will be a waste of your time and effort, as hardly anyone visits that site. (I believe that domain name is still available; all I get is: Firefox can’t find the server at jimdandycandy.com. )

Google just won’t see jimdandycandy.com as a quality site.

It’s a different story altogether for sites that Google owns. Google sees those sites as high-quality sites. Getting your backlink on a Google-owned website will quickly move you onto page one of Google search engine results pages. (It always helps to use some basic SEO on your pages, as well, and don’t create just one or two backlinks. Create as many backlinks as you can on quality websites.)

So, which sites does Google own? Let’s take a look.

Here’s a list of the sites Google owns: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_acquisitions_by_Google

One of those sites, as you see, is Pyra Labs, a little venture created by three friends in San Francisco that Google purchased in February, 2003.

You probably never heard of Pyra Labs, but you’ve probably heard of blogger.com, something the good folks at Pyra Labs invented.

Since Google now owns blogger.com and sees it as a high quality site, it makes sense to create Blogger blogs and link them to your website.

Every time you do, that’s another backlink from a quality site to your website, and that will help get your website listed on page one of Google search results pages, where people will find you…

There is also no limit to the number of Blogger blogs we can create. That’s a good thing for creating backlinks, so get busy, get your sites onto page one of Google search engine results and take advantage of that organic search engine traffic.

People are looking for you – make it easy for them to find you.
